NEED TO SELL OR RE-REGISTER YOUR CAR? YOU’LL NEED A SAFETY CERTIFICATE.
If you’re trying to sell your car, transfer registration to a new owner or re-register your old car, you need a roadworthy certificate, also known as a safety certificate in Queensland, to prove to the government that your car is safe to drive. Titan Automotive can perform an inspection of your vehicle so you can take the next step.
Get Your Safety Certificate
Safety certificates, or roadworthy certificates, make the roads safer by lowering the number of poorly maintained vehicles. If a vehicle is deemed too unsafe for a certificate, then it could be a danger to the driver of that vehicle and others around him or her.
Generally, a roadworthy certificate inspection covers the following, among other safety-related components:
- Brake systems
- Body rust or damage
- Windscreen, including windscreen wipers
These inspections are a basic safety check for the vehicle, not a full mechanical inspection. While you’ll need a more comprehensive inspection to judge if your car is in good shape, these certificates show the government that your vehicle isn’t likely to be a danger on the road.
In order for your safety certificate to be valid, you need to get it from an approved inspection station, or AIS, and a licensed inspector. Titan Automotive is an AIS with two licensed inspectors on site to perform this service.
We are an approved inspection station with two licensed inspectors on-site.
